Timeless Beatles references aside:
I'm back!
And boy, the city has welcomed me with some fucky ass weather. WIND. RAIN. THUNDER. THUMPING NOISES.
I LOVE IT.
...because I'm inside.
It's nice to be back, although my parents have moved since I was last here. The homespot is in Queen Anne - actually in Seattle now, oooooooh. And I have to say, I really like the area a lot. It's fun to walk around in when I'm not getting buffeted with upteen gallons of rain.
(NO STAY POSITIVE YOU'LL MISS THIS WHEN YOU GET BACK TO LA)
It makes coming back home even weirder. Not only am I returning to my family, which always has lots of strange nostalgic emotions and molten flecks of time bound up in it, but I'm returning to a home I've... never been in before.
The house is all different, but most of the furniture is the same, my parents are here and welcoming...
It's an unusal feeling. I'm feeling like an observer again; seeing, comprehending, but not able to fully break through that thin membrane of difference to really inhabit being home.
But it's still nice. And a much needed break.
Relaxingly yours, Drew "The Onlooker" Petriello
